About Leura Cascades
Hi Guys,
Only if you really think about Hunter Valley?! We have more detailed information about Leura Cascades
There’s something about Blue Mountains National Park that sticks with you. Maybe it’s the mist of eucalyptus oil hanging over the valleys, or the cliffs glowing gold at sunset while the cockatoos chatter their evening news. Whatever the reason, every time I set off from the city towards the ranges toward the mountains’ fading light, I’m reminded how extraordinary this World Heritage site truly is.
I’ve been leading tours around these ranges — from famous lookouts like Echo Point to Jenolan Caves and the Megalong Valley — for years, and believe me, the this is not something you tick off in a day. They’re a deep breathing antidote to city life, a natural cathedral of sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and gum-scented air.
Only an hour and a half west of Sydney via the Great Western Highway, the region is part of the wider Greater Blue Mountains conservation region. It’s a vast World Heritage sanctuary, extending right out to Wollemi National Park. It’s an intricate network of valleys, rainforests and towering eucalypts, habitat for more than 400 native animal species, from curious wallabies to secretive dingoes and mimicking lyrebirds.
